Anika Jewst is a research assistant at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences in Wolfenbüttel and is doing her doctorate at the Institute of Computer Graphics at the TU Braunschweig in the project ‘Digital learning support through immersive technologies for people with ADHD (ImmerTec)’. The aim of the project is to design, develop and evaluate learning support systems for people with ADHD based on immersive technologies such as virtual or augmented reality.

Thanks to the competitive funds of the LWC PdP, a visit to siggraph 2024 which took place from 28.07.24 - 01.08.24 in Denver, Colarodo and was the leading international conference in the field of computer graphics and interactive techniques. Prof Dr Martin Eisemann and other doctoral students from the Institute of Computer Graphics at TU Braunschweig took part in the conference.

As part of the siggraph, various programme items such as keynotes (with Jensen Huang and Mark Zuckerberg, among others), paper sessions, talks and courses and courses, which offered insights into the latest research results and activities in the field of computer graphics. There will also be an exhibition with various interactive booths for trying out new technologies and VR/AR applications was also part of the conference. At siggraph this year there were a variety of contributions on topics such as VR/AR/XR or generative AI and also a presentation a presentation on neurodiversity and ADHD in learning environments as well as measures to support neurodiverse learners. Anika Jewst reports: ‘Visiting siggraph was a special opportunity for me to gain to gain a more comprehensive insight into the latest findings and developments in the field of computer graphics and immersive technologies in particular. It was also exciting to see some immersive applications and learning learning environments from other researchers. The fact that there was also aI was pleased that there was also a presentation on learning with ADHD, which was very interesting and insightful for me and my future plans.’
